BENICIA, Calif. - Motorcycle PG&A retailer Cycle Gear has pledged $10,000 to the BlueRibbon Coalition in support of the organization's efforts to protect access to public lands.
The donation highlights Cycle Gear's total fiscal commitment to the BRC Trail Access Fund for 2013. This is the 11th year in a row in which Cycle Gear matches club and rider donations — dollar-for-dollar — to the Fund (up to $10,000 per year).
"Many challenges continue to confront trail enthusiasts who like to ride on state and federal lands,” said Cycle Gear CEO Dave Bertram, a five-time ISDE gold medalist and two-time national off-road champion. “Cycle Gear is proud of this grant program that supports BRC's efforts to successfully champion responsible motorized recreation on designated roads, trails, and areas."
Bertram noted that unwarranted lawsuits, overzealous regulators and agenda-driven politicians are a continual threat to family-oriented OHV recreation. He urged the off-road business community to continue to support access groups like BRC that work to protect public land access.
