Dainese has always been big on protection, and the Super Speed jacket ($799.95) has it in spades. Durable DSkin is combined with leather and S1 stretch fabric for the shell, while aluminum plates on the shoulders suggest that the designers drew inspiration from medieval armor. The shoulders have armor underneath the aluminum, and there are pockets for chest and back armor, too. Sizing runs from 44 to 60, and colors are white, black and black/gray.

The Laguna Seca Evo leather race suit ($1,195.95) has a rebuilt chest for more comfort and, according to Dainese, better ergonomics all around. The aero hump has venting, the shoulders have titanium inserts and the legs are designed to slide over boots. Sizing is the same as the Super Speed jacket, and color options are white/blue, white/black, black/gray and black.
