Dealer Expo moves to Friday-Sunday schedule

The powersports industry's largest dealer show will move to a Friday, Saturday, Sunday schedule starting in 2011.

The Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo will be held Feb. 18-20 at the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Previously, the show had been held on a Saturday-Monday schedule.

For dealers whose stores are traditionally closed on the Monday President's Day holiday, the new schedule affords them three full days to see product lines and network with manufacturers, distributors and other dealers at the show, plus an extra day to travel home before business opens on Tuesday. Attendees will need to arrive in Indianapolis by Thursday night, Feb. 17, to take full advantage of the exposition and conference sessions that start Friday morning.

"After polling many of our attendees and exhibitors, we are convinced that this new schedule will enhance the buying and selling experience at Dealer Expo," said Tracy Harris, vice president and general manager of Advanstar Communications' Powersports Group (parent of Dealernews). "The vast majority of our participants feel Friday will be a huge success."
