DEALER EXPO organizers are expecting a healthy four-day show in February despite the economic slowdown. Show management tells Dealernews that at least 70 percent of the dealers who attended Dealer Expo in 2009 have already re-registered for the 2010 show.
“Of course, we are not done calling all of the people who attended in 2009,” notes Josiah Taulbee, attendee development manager. “Our team is still calling those who came in February to make their 2010 registration process quick and simple.”
Vice president and general manager Tracy Harris notes that many dealers are enjoying strong aftermarket sales even though new vehicle sales are down dramatically this year. “People may not be buying new bikes as fast as they used to, but they are still riding the bikes they have, and buying the products they need to service them,” she says.
Harris notes that the show’s exhibitor base “remains strong” with a number of bread-and-butter exhibitors who fuel the aftermarket returning for 2010. For more information on exhibitors, visit www.dealerexpo.com.
Dealer Expo 2010 will launch Friday, Feb. 12, when exhibits in the Westin and Marriott hotel ballrooms as well as the second floor in the Indiana Convention Center will be open. The remaining exhibit areas of the convention center will open for business Saturday morning, Feb. 13.
