It looks like dealers are branching out beyond their websites to attract that hard-earned customer dollar.
Planet Powersports of Chadds Ford, Penn., has launched an iPhone app. Users can download the free app to make service appointments, order parts, get quotes on vehicles and GPS directions to the store — all while on the go. The app also links to the store’s eBay pages.
Manufacturers like Speed and Strength and online retailers like BikeBandit.com (see page 16) had hopped on the iPhone app bandwagon, but Planet Powersports may be the first powersports dealership to do so.
The dealership uses DealerApp as its platform, a program made by Zocalo Labs. It can be tailored with information to fit each individual store. The service was first launched to automotive dealers. Visit www.getdealerapp.com for more information.
