Dealernews has just launched a new Shop Talk online community dedicated to this weekend’s Dealer Expo in Indianapolis. Starting today, users can create profiles and then post messages, videos, images, comments, blogs and more in the “Dealer Expo 2010” social media group at www.dealernews.com/shoptalk.
“This is much more than just an online message center for Dealer Expo attendees,” said content director Mary Slepicka. “Everyone who establishes a profile and then joins the Dealer Expo 2010 group will be able to share photos and videos right from the show floor, plus comment about what they’re seeing and experiencing this weekend.
Dealernews editors will be posting blogs, comments, images and videos to the Dealer Expo 2010 group as well, and will be alerting group members to breaking news on the www.dealernews.com site.
“The Dealer Expo 2010 group on Shop Talk is open to attendees and exhibitors, and anyone else who wants to follow what’s happening at the show in near-real-time, as opposed to waiting for the Dailies to come out each morning,” Slepicka added.
Dealer employees who aren’t attending the show in person will have the opportunity to see what their colleagues are experiencing. “If you’re a general manager, for example, and you send staff to Indy, you’ll be able to follow up on their activities by having them post comments and images,” Slepicka explained.
Exhibitors are welcome to upload images and videos straight from their booth, she said. For more information, visit www.dealernews.com/shoptalk. Users must first create a profile, and then join the Dealer Expo group.
Dealernews is the title sponsor of the 2010 Dealer Expo, Feb. 12-15 in Indianapolis.
