KTM North America kicked off the first round of its dealer technical training program with a seminar on Big Orange's LC8 motor.
KTM established KTM University at its Murrieta, Calif., facility in 2005 as a way for KTM Dealers to attend seminars to learn the ins and outs of all KTM machines. Now in the program's third year, dealers must register in advance to secure a spot in the highly sought-after instructional classes.
KTM dealers that take advantage of KTM University's technical training not only gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the KTM motorcycles and ATVs but the KTM dealers who attend all ten classes will become "Orange Certified" and receive incentives that benefit their individual dealerships.
The classes will be held at KTM's Murrieta, Calif., and Amherst, Ohio, facilities. Training weeks start off in a classroom-like setting, where students receive instruction on the day ahead. They then move on to the actual work of tearing down and rebuilding motors as well as learning the basics of all electrical components. Classes cover the LC8, LC4, ATV, RFS and XC motors as well as WP Suspension.
