Deere Recalls Gator XUV

Deere & Company is recalling about 2,500 units of its Gator XUV 620i utility vehicle.

Deere & Company says the fuel tank on certain units can leak from a gap in the seam at the base of the filler neck, posing a fire hazard. There have been seven reports of fuel tank leaks. No fires or injuries have been reported.

Manufactured in the United States, the units were sold by Deere dealers nationwide from April through August 2008 for about $10,000.

Consumers are asked to stop using the recalled utility vehicles immediately and contact any Deere dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair.

Consumers also should keep the fuel tank below half-full until the repair is made. Registered owners were sent direct mail notification of this recall.
