Dominion Enterprises buys Web-based DMS provider Ziios

Dominion Enterprises — owner of Cycle Trader, PowerSports Network and Traffic Log Pro — has acquired Ziios, the developer of a Web-based dealer management system specifically for the powersports industry.

Curtis Conner, a former dealer and Microsoft software developer, founded Ziios in 2007. The El Dorado, Calif., company says its Internet-based MomentumDMS application helps dealers reduce technology costs while adding functionality. The software allows dealers to manage their inventory, parts and accessories, service center and accounting from anywhere they have Internet access. MomentumDMS is fully scalable for single- to multi-location dealerships.

“Ziios’ MomentumDMS delivers a comprehensive solution to dealers and requires less time and money than server-side DMS applications,” Rick Murchake, VP of Dominion Enterprises, stated in a press release. “We understand dealers are using multiple solutions to manage their business, so Ziios will be open to partnering with all powersports technology providers.”

Ziios will join Dominion Enterprises’ three powersports divisions: PowerSports Network, which claims to be the industry’s largest provider of Web services; CycleTrader.com, Cycle Trader magazine and Walnecks; and Traffic Log Pro, an Internet-based customer relationship management system.

“Our company is well aligned with the culture and innovation at Dominion Enterprises,” Conner said. “Ziios is excited to be backed by a company with such a high reputation in the industry. We’re confident that our suite of products will revolutionize the way dealers operate their businesses.”

Conner will continue as Ziios CEO and will remain headquartered in El Dorado.

Dominion Enterprises' overall business reaches far beyond powersports. The marketing services company also serves the automotive, commercial vehicle, real estate, apartment rental and employment industries. Headquartered in Norfolk, Va., with 4,900 employees nationwide, the company operates more than 40 websites and 280 magazines.
