MIAMI, Fla. – A newly christened luxury mall is the new home for Ducati Miami, which is moving from Miami Gardens to become a cornerstone of the new Wynwood Gateway Complex.
City officials and executives from developer Metro 1 held a ribbon-cutting for the complex March 19. Dealer principal David Seguias moved his dealership to be closer to its target market in Miami’s urban core and because of the artistic appeal of the gentrifying neighborhood.
Sequias had to sell the idea to top brass at Ducati. “At the beginning, they came here two years ago and they thought it might not be a good market opportunity for the brand … but ultimately I think it was a great choice,” Seguias told the Miami Herald.
Ducati is the first of three spaces to be leased out in what the developer is calling Phase 1 of the project. The first neighbors are a 2,600-sq.-ft. retail space and a 1,150-sq.-ft. cafe space.
The second phase will include what the developer calls “micro-retail,” or small boutiques just over 300 sq. ft. each in size.
