Ducati North America is recalling 3,614 model year 2007-2008 1098, 1098S and 1098 Tricolore motorcycles because a rear drive sprocket can fail (Ducati Recall No. RCL-08-003). Ducati says failure of the sprocket could result in a sudden loss of drive power and entanglement of the chain with the chassis. Dealers have been asked to replace the sprocket.
The 1098 retails for $15,995, the 1098S retails for $20,995.
