ACCORDING TO INDUSTRY consultant Ed Lemco, his upcoming “Reality Check” conference will be “a productive look at issues confronting us today and exactly what we can do about it.” The conference takes place Sunday, Nov. 8, in Dallas, and is open to all franchised dealers.
Attendance costs $390 per person. Additional people from the same dealership can attend for $320 each. The event will be held about 10 minutes from the airport at the DoubleTree Club Hotel, with a special daily rate of $97.
Lemco says the conference harks back to his consultant beginnings. “Back in 1981, I met with a group of astute dealers for the express purpose of having a reality check,” he states in a conference flier. “Things were chaotic, we were getting conflicting information, we lacked a real understanding of what was happening and what our options were. From that meeting emerged the first Lemco 20 group. All of the questions we asked then are still valid, and answers are needed as much as they were in 1981.”
Attendees will spend the day “reviewing critical market conditions and auditing all of the lessons of the past to determine what still applies and what needs to be changed,” states Lemco.
Dealers can obtain more information or a registration form by contacting Ed’s daughter, Laura Lemco, at 303-697-8514. Or they can e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ed Lemco is owner of Motorcycle Industry Consulting Services, located on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition, he says he’s daily involved in six partner dealerships, and moderates two 20 clubs. He began moderating clubs again earlier this year when Assurant Solutions sold off the 20 group business he founded in the ’80s.
