MILAN, ITALY — The 1,358 companies from 37 countries that have registered to showcase products and services at Italy's 65th International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA) spent Monday setting up and preparing for the event's opening Tuesday.

Perusing the 699,654 sq. ft. of indoor exhibition space revealed a number of new vehicles, parts, garments and accessories — that is, until workers noticed this reporter's camera and quickly covered the product.

Helmet supplier Suomy plans to introduce an apparel line, which includes jackets, pants, boots and gloves; Suzuki and Yoshimura are revealing a co-branded pipe, the GP EVO II; KYMCO is presenting a side-by-side called the UXV 500 4x4; Piaggio is premiering its X7 scooter; KTM is showcasing its superbike and family of 690 models; small displacement specialist Beta is rolling out a 400cc dirtbike; Hyosung is displaying a new naked bike called the GT650X; and BMW and Ducati both are planning to show three new models, including the anticipated Ducati 848.
