EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Evansville Superbike Shop has opened a new, larger powersports store on Evansville’s east side and doubled its staff.
The new Evansville store has more than four times the space and, with 24 employees, has double the staff as his former shop. Inside is a one-of-a-kind mega-mall with concept stores from Oakley, Fox, Alpinestars, Speed & Strength, Arai and other brands.
Owner Gary Virgin opened his business 18 years ago.
German American Bank and the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp. are providing a loan with the assistance of the U.S. Small Business Administration 504 program. Indiana Statewide CDC works with local lenders to provide SBA 504 loans to owners of expanding companies.
“This financing allows me to keep my capital available to use in the business and build a much nicer structure. With a down payment of about half what I would have had to make with a commercial loan and the long-term fixed rate, I would be crazy not to do this type of financing,” Virgin said.
The expansion lets SuperBike Shop add more brands to its lineup, which includes KTM, Polaris, Arctic Cat, Husqvarna, Victory, Royal Enfield, Kawasaki, Suzuki, MV Agusta motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, Hammerhead go-carts, Triton Trailers and other motorcycles and related equipment. The service department has in-house CNC equipment and two dynamometers. The new superstore will have more powersports units, Oakley and Fox concept stores, gear, clothing and accessories.
