A judge in Talladega County has sentenced a man who killed his dealership-owner boss in 2006 to life in prison, according to NBC 13 in Talladega.
A jury convicted Fred Allen Walker, a diagnosed schizophrenic and former shop mechanic, March 1 for the intentional killing of Gerry Harrell, who owned Motorcycle Sports in Oxford.
During the trial, witnesses testified that Walker had suffered from increasingly dark delusions since he’d been in his 20s.
Walker shot Harrell once in the back of the head, apologized to co-workers and then called the Marshal Service, which, according to testimony, he believed had ordered Harrell’s death.
