SPOKANE, Wash. – Things are coming full circle for Roundys, with the owners closing the shop Saturday after more than 35 years selling motorcycles, ATVs and personal watercraft.

Pete and Merline Roundy, both 77, opened Roundy's Kawasaki in 1976.  They changed the name in recent years after ending their affiliation with Kawasaki.

“We’re doing this with mixed emotions,” Pete Roundy told the Spokane Spokesman-Review. “We’ve had a good time, and I think we’ve maintained a good reputation in the community.”

The couple made the decision to retire over the last year.

“It hasn’t been that easy to keep going the past three or four years,” Pete Roundy said. “It’s not been ideal for recreational items. But we hung in there, even when it wasn’t that easy.”
