SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - It's easy to find riding gear for men, not so much for women. But that will change in Sioux Falls March 1 when Ride Empowered, a new women's motorcycle apparel business, opens.

Doris Schumacher is leaving her job as a financial analyst to open the store, which will cater to women motorcycle enthusiasts.

“With this business, I’m hoping to provide a greater variety of brands and products than typically found in a motorcycle shop, a variety that reaches all female riders; cruisers, sport and adventure riders, café racers and even scooter riders,” Schumacher told KELO. “In addition to that, I hope to create a network of support, encouragement and education for women that ride or are simply interested in it. We’re also going to have some fun with contests and a couple of riding events."

The store will carry riding gear and apparel, and motorcycle related clothing and jewelry.
