UKIAH, Calif. – Fire swept through Motosports of Ukiah, burning about 30 ATVs and three acres of grass before firefighters got the upper hand.

No structures were damaged in the Aug. 26 fire, John Bartlett, chief of the combined Ukiah, Ukiah Valley and Hopland fire departments, told The Press-Democrat.

The fire jumped Highway 101, consumed ATVs on the dealer’s rear storage lot, then crossed another road and sparked a fire on another property. The fire's cause has not been determined, Bartlett said.

About 20 of the burned ATVs were new, he said. The others were in for repairs. Each is valued at about $13,000 Bartlett said.
