FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - A business partnership that operates a motorcycle rental business in Germany has opened a new Eaglerider franchise in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Northern Arizona’s mountain roads, as well as Route 66, are popular with bikers. Peter Fischer and his partners opened Eaglerider Flagstaff along West Route 66. They renovated a property that started as a Route 66 gas station and was later an auto parts store.

Fischer told the Daily Sun people were streaming into his store even before he had posted a sign, long before he lined up his fleet of a dozen Harleys outside.

The idea to set up stateside came from operating the German business. Fischer says his customers have a deep fascination with Route 66.

"Every year we send overseas 3,500 bikers to ride in the United States," he says. "We decided that we wanted to better support our customers by building up our operations here."
