LEESBURG, Fla. – Gator Harley-Davidson has hit the unique milestone of selling the Motor Co.’s 4 millionth motorcycle.

Buyer Robert Shingler, a 44-year-old police officer from Summerville, S.C., said he wasn't sure he wanted to put it on the road "because it's so special."

The black 2013 Road Glide Ultra was built in the company's York, Pa., factory and was tracked from its time on the assembly line to its delivery in Leesburg.

Shingler and his wife bought the bike early this month during the 2012 Florida State HOG Rally at Howey-in-the-Hills, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The Shinglers will receive an expenses-paid tour of the York Harley-Davidson plant and plan to attend Harley-Davidson's 110th anniversary celebration next August in Milwaukee.

Dealership owners John Malik Jr. and Janice Malik were ecstatic about the bike and greeted the couple with balloons, cake and nonstop photos shot by staffers.
