NASHUA, N.H. – A grand jury has indicted a former dealership salesman on felony charges after he was accused of pocketing cash that customers paid for motorcycles.

Brian Cote, 44, faces eight counts of theft by unauthorized taking. Prosecutors say he sold seven motorcycles at the Best Ford and Cycle Center in Nashua between 2008 and 2010 and kept the proceeds, according to court documents.

Cote was arrested in September 2009 and charged with theft by deception after being accused of keeping more than $2,000 in cash a customer paid to buy a 2008 Suzuki 650 motorcycle, police told the Nashua Telegraph.

The manager of the store contacted police after finding a motorcycle missing from the inventory, police said.

The grand jury’s indictments were handed down on Sept. 26.
