DONN PROUDFOOT, the former owner of the Titan Motorcycle Co., was found shot to death in his north Phoenix home in what police are calling an apparent burglary.

Maricopa County deputies responding to a shots fired call at a home early Monday morning found Proudfoot, 54, lying on the floor with two gunshot wounds. He later died from his injuries, one of which was to his head.

Detectives said Proudfoot's girlfriend, who lives in the house with the victim, has been ruled out as a possible suspect and the incident appears to be a burglary.

The home is listed with the Arizona Department of Transportation as the address for TMC Acquisitions, Proudfoot's company. Proudfoot and TMC were at the center of controversy in 2007 following his declaration of bankruptcy and subsequent attempt to sell the company to Arizona Motorcycle Works, a entity owned by his girlfriend.
