Amway heir Dan DeVos has bought Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson, adding more hogs to his Fox Motors’ powersports division.
“Although it is difficult to sell a business that we are passionate about, we are pleased to hand over the reins to Dan DeVos and his team at Fox Powersports,” former owner David Veracka told the Grand RapidsPress. “We are confident that our customers will receive the excellent, first-rate service they have come to expect from the brand Harley-Davidson.”
Veracka and his sons Paul and Michael, who have owned the dealership in Hudsonville, Mich., for four years, will focus their efforts on a more recent dealership venture in Olathe, Kan., says Paul Veracka, 29, who managed the Grand Rapids store.
DeVos bought the Harley store in Shawmut Hills, which now operates as Fox Shawmut Hills, in 2010. He owns a total of 41 powersports and auto dealerships, including Fox Powersports of Kentwood.
