SAN JOSE, Calif. – Peer-to-peer powersports rental pioneer Fun2Rent.com, which launched last October, says it doubled the number of owner listings and rental clients this summer and is planning to develop a mobile website.
President Shawn Gardner developed Fun2Rent, an insured program for renting motorcycles, ATVs, PWC and boats from private owners or neighbors. Fun2Rent qualifies potential renters and provides more than $1 million in liability and collision insurance.
"This summer, the public has become more aware of the Fun2Rent business model and the numerous benefits of private owner rentals. Owners are now able to offset the cost of ownership, including maintenance and storage fees,” Gardner said. “Fun2Rent provides an insured way to earn money from these assets, and serves as a gateway to ownership for renters where the cost of owning a powersport vehicle or vessel might be prohibitive."
The company said it expects strong growth throughout the year as it expands into the ATV and snowmobile markets. Fun2Rent plans to expand the existing platform through a mobile site.
