Yoshi Kosaka’s Garage Company vintage shop will host an open house Sunday to celebrate its recent move to a new, bigger site in Inglewood, Calif., after more than 20 years in Marina Del Rey.
The party will include food and drinks, classic racing videos on a big screen TV in the entertainment lounge and many classic street and racing motorcycles on display at the new, 18,000 sf-plus building.
“We’re very excited to be in such a huge new building,” says Kosaka. “We had clearly outgrown our old location. Parts and inventory were tucked away in every corner and when we moved, we found so much stuff I didn’t even know we had.”
Some of the more notable motorcycles from Kosakai’s collection that will be on display include a 1969 KR-TT Factory Harley Davidson road racer, one of only seven made; a Yamaha YDS1R Yamaha race bike that took first place in its category at the 2006 Legend of the Motorcycle event; a rare CZ 500cc single-cylinder factory race bike; various models of AJS, BSA, Harley Davidson, Matchless, Norton, Triumph and Velocette motorcycles and more.
The open house runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new store, 956 W. Hyde Park Blvd., Inglewood.
