CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Spring is a time for growth, especially at Gary Griffith Cycle. The dealership is set to double its showroom space to accommodate its new marque, KTM.
"We're hoping to get them at the right time, while they're growing really fast," dealer principal Gary Griffith told the Chattanooga Times-Free Press.
The retailer plans to add another 7,000 sq. ft. to the existing 6,000 sq. ft. showroom in the complex of buildings he owns. The project is slated for completion in April. By then inventory will have doubled to $2 million, including $250,000 worth of used bikes, Griffith said.
The shop has 11 employees, including son Jeff Griffith, and two other family members. The expansion could lead to adding three more.
"It's fun, it's exciting work, doing motorcycling," he said. "That's my whole life. It's all I've ever done."
