Most dealers are wise to the value of gas mileage as a selling point. But the folks at Fort Hood Harley-Davidson in Texas are making sure motorists get the message.

The dealership in Harker Heights recently erected a sign over the store, facing U.S. Highway 190, that has a giant arrow pointing down at the store and reading "54 MPG, $7,995."

Sales associate Jim Goode told the Killeen Daily Herald it’s already bringing in business. "We've had people come in and say, 'I was just filling up my truck with diesel, and I saw your sign,' and it's crazy," he says.

Service manager Mike Kiger reports a 14 percent increase in service visits over the last two years. He attributes the change to both new bikers and increased motorcycle use by longtime riders.
