CHEVY CHASE, Md. - GEICO will serve as the exclusive insurance company for the 72nd Black Hills Motor Classic in Sturgis, S.D., Aug. 6 to 12.
"2012 marks the eighth year we have been participating, so we are very excited to serve as the exclusive insurance company for such a great event," said GEICO vice president Ted Ward. "Being here gives us a great opportunity to connect with our customers on a personal level and to promote our family of products."
GEICO will have activities and events at two locations in Sturgis. On Main Street next to the Armory, there will be a "Meet and Greet Gecko" and a roaming Gecko for the fans along with tons of rally giveaways. At the Buffalo Chip location, Casey Mears' #13 GEICO, Ford Focus NASCAR car will be on display with the Gecko to meet with the fans.
Participants will also have a chance to see a new custom-built, GEICO military tribute bike created by Paul Teutul Jr. The bike is built in honor of the military and its service members. A special unveiling is scheduled for Aug. 6 at the Buffalo Chip campground.
