BEND, Ore. - Soft-luggage company Giant Loop announced that it has secured its first injection of working capital since it started in 2008, and has made some changes at the top.

"To remain vital and competitive in the long term, we have to accelerate the pace of innovation and brand penetration,” said company co-founder Harold Olaf Cecil.

The company, which focuses on the luggage needs for adventure touring riders, reported that it received a Small Business Association-based working capital loan from Columbia State Bank; the amount of the loan was not disclosed.

Giant Loop has hired Brian Frankle, founder, former owner and award-winning designer of a outdoor recreation equipment company, as design director. Frankle is an adventure motorcyclist who has ridden the Trans-America Trail across the United States using motorcycle soft luggage of his own design and creation.

Co-founder Dave Wachs recently sold his interest in the company and is pursuing other opportunities, the company stated.

The company will be exhibiting at Dealer Expo, Feb. 15-17 in Indianapolis.
