AKRON, Ohio -- GOJO Industries has launched its new Ecopreferred Pumice Hand Cleaner, the first green certified product in the GOJO Tough Soils portfolio.

The pumice hand cleaner, developed for those who work in oil, grease and other medium to heavy soils, cleans while conditioning.

It earned ECOLOGO certification from UL, awarded to products that demonstrate effective performance compared to traditional products on the market and environmental leadership based on the product's proven ability to meet or exceed third party standards for a range of human health and environmental impacts.

The new cleaner is also a U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified biobased product, with an 85 percent biobased formulation, exceeding the USDA minimum of 64 percent to be certified BioPreferred. Certified biobased, as recognized by the Department of Agriculture, is a measurement of a product's 'new' carbon content relative to its overall carbon content. New carbon is derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry materials. Fossil carbon is derived from oil.

The readily biodegradable formulation is powered by naturally renewable ingredients and natural scrubbers, and contains no petroleum solvents. The cleaner is available in gallon and half-gallon recyclable HDPE bottles with pump dispensers.
