ORGANIZERS OF THE 66th edition of the Milan International Motorcycle and Bicycle Exhibition (EICMA) say they expect about a half-million visitors to attend the event, Nov. 4-9, at the Fiero Milano convention center.

A yearly event made of powersports and bicycle expositions held simultaneously on the grounds of the convention center, EICMA is operated by EICMA SpA, a company owned by Confindustria ANCMA (the Association of Italian manufacturers of bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, components and accessories). EICMA SpA says approximately 535,000 visitors attended the event in 2007 — including 54,632 trade visitors, 20,864 of which attended from abroad.

Last year 1,515 motorcycle-related companies from 39 countries showcased product within 740,912 sq. ft. of exhibition space in 10 halls. Also open to viewing: an 18-acre outdoor area, Moto Live, that allows visitors to watch and even participate in riding events. Events to watch include supermoto, Supercross, minicross and enduro races, as well as a choice of some fairly dramatic freestyle events.
