SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – While the state mourns the loss of 19 wildland firefighters, Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale will host a fundraiser for their families July 6.

Local charities will host a pancake breakfast at Firehousee #7 to raise money for the families, and the dealership will donate $1,000 from the sale of every bike and 10 percent of all other sales for the day to the cause, plus match those donations.

Lightning touched off the fire in Yarnell, about 85 miles north of Phoenix, on June 28. Then high monsoon winds, 110-degree-plus heat and tinder-dry brush fanned the fire into a conflagration June 30. Investigators believe the flames changed direction suddenly, trapping the Granite Mountain Hotshots in the blaze. The fire was still burning with zero percent containment July 2.

To donate directly, see the Prescott Firefighter's Charities website. The organziation will use 100% of donations to help victims of the fire.
