The union representing employees at the York, Penn., Harley-Davidson plant has published a list of incentives for workers to take early retirement or voluntary layoffs as the plant restructures.
Benefits vary according to the option selected, but the complete terms are available at Local 175 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
The packages include medical and dental benefits, severance pay, a $10,000 lump sum and $350 per month for three years for employees vested at least five years for retirees. Voluntary layoffs are eligible for the payments but not benefits, and they give up recall rights.
