GERING, Neb. - More than 250 Harley-Davidson motorcycles will return to town this weekend for the 2013 Nebraska State HOG Rally.
This year’s event promises plenty of riding and fun May 24 through 26. Rally activities for registered HOG members will include Walking Poker Runs in downtown Gering and Scottsbluff, and daily rides to historical sites, such as Agate Fossil Beds, Scotts Bluff National Monument, Wildcat Hills and Fort Laramie. Bike games are planned Saturday at the Gering Civic Center parking lot, and there will be a rally parade Sunday.
“The annual 2013 Nebraska State HOG rally is the largest Harley-Davidson motorcycle event in the state, and it gives our members an opportunity to renew friendships and spend a few days doing what we like to do best — ride together on our Harleys,” Gary Smith, the 2013 rally chairman, told the Scottsbluff Star Herald. Gering was also the site of the 2010 HOG rally.
