Contrary to rumors, Honda will not be releasing a new Interceptor for the 2009 model year. It will, however, be importing the fully automatic DN-01 and a supermoto version of the CRF230L dual-sport it introduced last year. Honda also updates the Gold Wing with a tire pressure monitoring system and XM radio. The CBR1000RR and CBR600RR will come in ABS versions that feature combined braking.
Below is the press release that Honda sent out today.
Press Release: Honda announces third wave of 2009 models
Torrance, Calif. — American Honda’s Powersports Division announced today its third release of 2009 motorcycle products. This announcement follows the earlier releases of Honda’s 2009 off-road motorcycles, ATVs, MUV and Ruckus and Metropolitan scooters.
"Today we're proud to announce our on-road lineup of 2009 Honda motorcycles," said Motorcycle Press Manager Bill Savino. "A number of these models offer impressive new technology to motorcycling enthusiasts, so we're especially excited to introduce this portion of our product line. The 2009 DN-01 enters our market as literally a class of one; there is nothing else like it in the U.S.A.
