Honda Introduces '08 CBR1000RR

Honda introduced its upcoming vehicle lineup for Europe at the Paris Motorcycle Show, unveiling a newly designed CBR1000RR also to be made available in the U.S. next year.

The CBR1000RR super sports bike underwent a full model change for 2008.

The engine and die-cast aluminum frame construction have been changed for weight reduction and greater concentration of mass, the number of components has been reduced to make the bike more compact, a lengthened swingarm improves road holding and increases rigidity, a newly developed assist slipper clutch for easier clutch operation, a new fairing design helps the bike look more compact, and an updated exhaust system position brings it closer to the bike's center of gravity, with a short muffler that further contributes to the concentration of mass.

These and other modifications succeed in reducing overall vehicle weight by an incredible 13.2 pounds compared to the previous model.
