Rob Haviland, Crowe president, told the Dayton Daily News operations will cease Dec. 18.
“Honda’s decision was a surprise,” he said.
Employment at the company’s 150,000-square-foot facility peaked at about 100 during the boom years of the early 2000s, but is down to just seven people.
Ron Lietzke, a Honda of America spokesman, confirmed that Honda has ended its business with Crowe.
“It has been re-sourced with another supplier here in Ohio in the ATV business. It did not go back to Japan,” Lietzke told the newspaper.
