Honda Switch Shutters Crowe Manufacturing Services

Dayton, Ohio-based Crowe Manufacturing Services is expected to close this week, on the heels of Honda of America Manufacturing’s decision to move its contract for ATV parts to another area company.

Rob Haviland, Crowe president, told the Dayton Daily News operations will cease Dec. 18.

“Honda’s decision was a surprise,” he said.

Employment at the company’s 150,000-square-foot facility peaked at about 100 during the boom years of the early 2000s, but is down to just seven people.

Ron Lietzke, a Honda of America spokesman, confirmed that Honda has ended its business with Crowe.

“It has been re-sourced with another supplier here in Ohio in the ATV business. It did not go back to Japan,” Lietzke told the newspaper.
