The government has reported two upcoming recalls, detailed below.
Honda will recall select 2002 VTX1800 units made between August 14 and Oct. 4 of 2001. The swing arm may not have been properly welded and could break while the bike is being ridden. Honda will begin notifying owners around Sept. 25, and dealers will inspect the weld and, if necessary, replace the swing arm. The potential number of units affected is 688. The NHTSA campaign ID number is 09V362000.
Yamaha will recall select 2005 Yamaha FJR1300, FZS600 and FZF-R1 units made between October 2004 and April 2005. The throttle position sensor can fail, causing the engine to stall. Yamaha will notify owners around Oct. 7, and dealers will replace the throttle position sensor. The potential number of units affected is 180. The NHTSA campaign ID number is 09V360000.
