Japan's Honda Motor Co. Ltd. says net sales and other operating revenue for the six months ended last Sept. 30, totaled ¥5.902 trillion ($55.3 billion), up 12 percent from ¥5.230 trillion ($49.0 billion) during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Operating income for the six months ended Sept. 30 totaled ¥508.02 billion ($4.76 billion), up 22 percent from ¥396.55 billion ($3.72 billion) for the same period in 2006.
Honda says its global motorcycle business had net sales of ¥749.96 billion ($7.02 billion) for the six-month period, up 14 percent from ¥645.65 billion ($6.05 billion) during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Motorcycle business income for the six months ended September 30, 2007, totaled ¥68.16 billion ($638.7 million), up 34 percent from ¥45.22 billion ($423.7 million) for the same period in 2006.
Honda Motor plans to reveal its third quarter results in February.
