CHAM, Germany - Hornig has been manufacturing parts and accessories for BMW motorcycles since 2001. Two of its latest products is a brake disc lock and a side-stand foot enlarger.

The RK15 disc lock for the S 1000 RR has an alarm function that goes off when it senses vibrations and can be turned on or off. MSRP is $154.39.

To get French approval for the RK15, Hornig had to “prove many times that no saws, no bolt cropper or drilling can break it.” The waterproof lock is made of forged steel and has a 14 mm angled pin.

Made in Europe, the RK15 comes with a storage pouch, three keys and two AAA batteries. Sold separately is the RK220 mount that can be attached to the frame of the S 1000 RR, providing a place to store the lock. MSRP for the mount is $50.47.

Next up is a product that more than doubles the area of the side-stand foot on the liquid-cooled 2013 R 1200 GS, making the stand more stable on dirt and asphalt. The Hornig 0725 side-stand foot enlarger is CNC-milled from aluminum and anodized black. MSRP is $34.77.

Customers can combine the enlarger with Hornig’s 0725-20 side-stand heightening part, which makes the side stand 20 mm longer. The plastic heightener allows the R 1200 GS to stand more upright. Thus the customer can more easily lift the bike to a riding position, especially when carrying a lot of luggage. MSRP for the heightener is $10.25.
