CHAM, Germany - One of the interesting points made by the BMW staff when presenting the all-new BMW R1200GS to the press was the ability to customize the big GS as you might deck out a sportbike. While that’s certainly true, most aftermarket manufacturers would likely focus on the usual array of adventure-touring accessories.
Or so we thought. Enter BMW Motorrad specialist Hornig.
In addition to an adventure-ready crash bar set, GPS frames and mirror mounting solutions, the German aftermarket firm also produces a variety of accessories typically found on pure sportbikes.
Some of these include crash protection sliders for the Paralevel Cardan drive, carbon fiber body panels and fenders and cleanly styled frame plugs. Hornig also distributes Remus exhausts, with fitments available for the new water-cooled boxer.
