Plans to change the dates of the spring Cruisin’ the Coast rally in Myrtle Beach, S.C., may be backfiring: the Horry County Council plans to consider ending vendor permits in May.
The Council plans to take the matter up at its next meeting because some residents near popular rally sites raised concerns Tuesday night about extending the rally. Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson announced Friday that instead of the initially planned dates of May 14 to 20, they would put the rally on May 18 to 28.
Councilman Gary Loftus recommended council members have a discussion at the next meeting Feb 14 about possibly doing away with all vendor permits in the month of May, according to the Myrtle Beach Sun News.
“They just don’t seem to want to play by whatever rules we set,” he said.
