Hot Rod Harley-Davidson has joined the ranks of businesses in Muskegon, Mich., chipping in to help the survivors and families of a tragic motorcycle accident that happened May 31 in neighboring Wisconsin.

The accident occurred near Fond du Lac, as a dozen members of a club called the Muskegon Motorcycle Gang were out on a group ride. An oncoming car crossed the center line and plowed into 10 of the riders. One man died at the scene, another has since succumbed to his injuries and a handful of others are still hospitalized.

To help the families with expenses, Hot Rod Harley says on its Facebook page that it will donate $100 from every motorcycle sold through the end of the year to the “MMG Motorcycle Tragedy Fund.”

“They are just doing it because they wanted to help, not for publicity,” Ame Matuzeski, who established the fund and works in finance at Hot Rod, told the Muskegon Chronicle. She wis friends with several members of the club and established the fund to help the families.
