SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Injuries sustatined over the weekend in Germany have knocked MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone out of the California Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix and forced cancellation of an in-store planned for tonight at the D-Store.
Iannone dislocated his shoulder in a fall in the fourth free practice at the Sachsenring in Germany. He suffered a fractured humerus, according to MotoGP.com, and will be resting for a couple of weeks. He's expected to be back in action for an Aug. 18 Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.
“Unfortunately, due to injuries sustained during the race weekend in Germany, Andrea Iannone will not be coming to the states for the Laguna Seca Grand Prix. In turn, he will not be able to attend the event at the D- Store San Francisco. We apologize for any inconveniences, and wish Andrea a fast recovery,” co-sponsor Dianese stated.
