TWIN FALLS, Idaho – Idaho’s Off-Highway Vehicle Public Outreach Campaign has launched a new helmet safety campaign that offers discounts on helmets at powersports retailers around the state.
The Ride Tomorrow campaign encourages riders to wear helmets. Even though state law requires those younger than 18 to wear a helmet when operating motorbikes, ATVs, UTVs and other off-highway vehicles, safety officials believe helmet use is low.
The “Ride Tomorrow” campaign offers a 10 percent coupon on a new helmet at more than 20 dealers statewide. Riders can go to the website, take the pledge to wear a helmet and get the 10 percent off coupon, and at the same time sign up to win a 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570. The winner will be announced after the summer campaign ends Aug. 31.
The website also features a 15-second educational video of a dad and son riding ATV’s. Parents can set a positive example by wearing a helmet.
