Mothers Against Drunk Driving Illinois has given Heritage Harley-Davidson its 2009 MADD Illinois' Heroes Award for Community Service.

Heritage H-D, in Lisle, won the highest award in the state for its support and contribution to the Lisle Police Department's five annual roadside safety checkpoints, a key focus of and their support of MADD's campaign to wipe out drunk driving.

"Heritage Harley-Davidson is a stellar example of a business that improves highway safety for all of us by proactively educating its members not to drink and ride," said Susan McKeigue, MADD Illinois executive director." In addition they partner with local law enforcement by contributing their manpower and use of their premises five times a year."

MADD's mission is to stop drunken driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.
