MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Indian Motorcycle will salute North American military service with its new Honoring Heroes incentive program that gives $1,000 cash back on a new Indian Chief to current and past military personnel who buy any time during 2014.
The Honoring Heroes program is offered to all U.S. and Canadian active, reserve, National Guard and retired military personnel. To take advantage of the $1,000 incentive, customers must visit any Indian Motorcycle dealership throughout North America and present valid military identification.
"Indian Motorcycle has a long and legendary history of supporting our Armed Forces, and supplied many thousands of bikes to the military in both WWI and WWII," said Steve Menneto, vice president of motorcycles for Polaris. "We are very proud of that heritage and today we continue that tradition with our Honoring Heroes program. You can expect strong and ongoing commitment from Indian Motorcycle to the brave men and women of our military in 2014 and beyond."
The announcement comes on the heels of two other initiatives created to reinforce the company's support of military personnel and their families. The "Stars and Stripes Saturday Sponsored by Indian Motorcycle" program provides U.S. military personnel free admission to any of the upcoming Progressive International Motorcycle Shows courtesy of Indian Motorcycle.
Also, in partnership with Jack Daniel's and the Armed Services YMCA, Indian has customized and donated the 'No. 7' serial number off the production line of its 2014 Indian Chief models to the "Operation Ride Home" program for the benefit will benefit military families. The No. 7 custom bike will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson this month.
