DEALER EXPO, Indianapolis, Ind. - Scott Gordinier, Brandon Miller and Paul Zhao recently founded California-based tire and wheel company GMZ Race Products (Booth 2345).
Gordinier and Zhao started their careers at Douglas Wheel, where the latter became skilled in CAD design. Miller and Gordinier also have experience in go-kart, ATV and NASCAR racing.
The team is now designing and manufacturing their own ATV, side-by-side and go-kart wheels and tires that have “withstood some of the roughest deserts and racetracks throughout the country,” according to GMZ.
The company is displaying several new products this weekend at the show.
The 28x10-14 Cutthroat tire, which fits all stock Polaris XP models without modification, is for customers who want bigger tires and more ground clearance. GMZ designed the Cutthroat to run on the front and rear, giving the rider the option of having only one size spare. The tire is made of a medium compound that GMZ says “doesn’t wear too quickly but gives you that extra grip on rocks or the hole shot at the race track.” The 6-ply bias tire weighs 31.8 lbs., is laid up with radial construction, and has a heavy-duty sidewall. Suggest retail is $169.95.
New GMZ cast aluminum wheels include the black LiteLoc Bead Lock with a bead lock ring available machined, in black or in a custom color. The wheel comes in popular bolt patterns in 12-inch and 14-inch sizes that weigh 13.5 lbs. and 15 lbs., respectively. The LiteLoc has a built-in center cap and a load rating of 1,000 lbs. per wheel. Retail prices range from $118.95 to $141.95.
The Venomus cast aluminum wheel also comes in 12-inch and 14-inch sizes in popular side-by-side bolt patterns. The 14x8 size weighs 12 lbs. and has a special offset intended to make the vehicle more stable in the sand or on the trails, without the rider’s having to buy “expensive suspension kits or wheel spacers,” claims GMZ. The Venomus is available in a machined and black finish and comes with the center cap. The wheel also is available in custom colors to order. The load rating is 800 lbs. per wheel. Suggested retail ranges from $89.95 to $109.95.
