INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is sponsoring a motorcycle meet downtown ahead of the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
The seventh annual Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Motorcycles on Meridian will feature custom choppers, sportbikes, vintage Harleys and any other steel horse imaginable. The event is free and open to everyone with or without bikes. The event will be emceed by Allan Lane, publisher and editor-in-chief of Sportbikes Inc.
The street festival runs from 7 p.m. to midnight Aug. 8, and 4 p.m. to midnight Aug. 9. Riders will park their machines along Meridian Street from Monument Circle to South Street, near the convention center.
A parking lot at 125 S. Meridian will be converted to a fan hangout, with a beer garden, food, Red Bull D.J., and more, open to guests 21 and older. IMS will also have a ticket trailer downtown on the corner of South Meridian Street and East Chesapeake Street, where fans can buy a commemorative Motorcycles on Meridian T-shirt as well as tickets and paddock passes to the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday.
