Iraq war veteran launches Patriot Powersports with consignment business

Another entrepreneur is using consignment to build his family-owned business, Patriot Powersports in Marshall, Minn.

Iraq war veteran Matt Whitesitt opened Patriot Powersports the first week of August. Since then he’s taken in several motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles on consignment.

"I've seen other companies do it elsewhere, and seen the success that [the] other companies have," Whitesitt told the Marshall Independent. "Usually the customer will bring in their machine and we'll assist with the appraisal. We'll take it apart and detail it, and make it look new."

Whitesitt, a former diesel mechanic, has been in the National Guard for 18 years, the last six full-time, serving two tours in Iraq.

Patriot Powersports offers the full Drag Specialties line and is a Parts Unlimited dealer.
